For over four decades, music has been the defining rhythm of Bren’s life. As the owner, operator, and passionate lead tutor at Derosa Music Lichfield, Bren brings a rare blend of deep academic knowledge, extensive industry experience, and the soul of a practising musician to every lesson.

Bren’s journey isn’t just about teaching scales and chords—it’s about sharing a lifelong love for music, forged on stage, in the studio, and in the classroom.

Bren’s expertise is built on an unshakeable foundation of formal training and real-world application:

Formal Excellence: Holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Music, a Grade 8 qualification, and a PGCE in Secondary Music Education, ensuring a rigorous, curriculum-informed approach to teaching.

Industry Veteran: With 30+ years in the music industry, Bren’s experience extends far beyond performance. This includes roles in music retail sales, professional equipment installation, studio work, and live sound engineering. This gives students a unique, behind-the-scenes understanding of how music is made, amplified, and heard in the real world.

School Programme Specialist: Currently works as an instrumental tutor across local primary and secondary schools, making them adept at inspiring and engaging students of all ages and confidence levels.

As a practising working musician, Bren regularly performs across the region with a variety of artists, both as a freelance session player and as a permanent band member.
